Our Top 5 Free HPAT Study Resources

Hey guys! With HPAT just around the corner (less than three months to go) it’s the perfect time to sharpen your skills and make use of the best free (and almost free) resources out there. Here are some of my favourites that can genuinely move the needle for your prep.

1. Daniel Mills’ UMAT Tutorials (YouTube)

If you haven’t already watched Daniel Mills’ UMAT tutorials on YouTube, you’re missing out. I’ve linked some of his best videos below — they’re short, clear, and packed with tips that translate really well to HPAT.

These tutorials are a great starting point, but they’re also brilliant for picking up new tricks you might not have discovered yet. Highly, highly recommended.

2. Scribd (Free Access to ACER Papers)

Next up: Scribd.

If you search carefully, you can find past ACER HPAT papers on Scribd — and you can often view them for free. It’s incredibly useful for getting exposure to the real exam style.

3. Mini Crosswords & Sudoku (NYT & More)

The NYT Mini Crossword and Sudoku are excellent for developing pattern-recognition and problem-solving skills.

Studies have even shown that nursing students who do Sudoku after class may benefit in their learning and reasoning — and Section 1/2 of HPAT definitely rewards that kind of mental agility.

It’s 5–10 minutes a day, but it compounds massively over time.

4. Free HPAT Workshops (HPATTeacher.com)

We run free workshops all the time (normally about once a month) covering Sections 1, 2, and 3 in rotation. Keep an eye on the homepage because spaces fill quickly.

Upcoming Workshop:

📅 Saturday, December 6th — 11:30 AM💶 €5 only (and all net proceeds go to MSF, after card fees)This is a one-hour Section 1 tutorial and includes access to the recording. Book on the homepage.

5. Official ACER Sample Questions

ACER provides a handful of free sample questions on their website. It’s not a lot, but it’s high-quality, and more importantly, it teaches you how the exam writers think.

If you haven’t gone through them yet, do it today.

Bonus Tip: Keep a HPAT Notebook

This is one of the most underrated study tools.Keep a small notebook (or digital equivalent) where you:

  • Map out patterns in Section 3

  • Write down recurring logic structures

  • Note emotional cues and themes from Sections 1 & 2

  • Track mistakes and insights

Over time, this becomes your personal HPAT guide.

Want to Ace HPAT? Join Our One-Day Masterclass

If you want to go beyond the basics, we’re running a one-day HPAT Masterclass on December 22nd. It’s an intensive session covering all three sections, strategies, timing, and exam psychology.

If you use even a few of these resources consistently, you’ll notice the difference — and future you will be very grateful.

Best of luck, and see you at the next workshop! 🚀
